Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin interested in becoming the next Idol judge

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Following the recent exit of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler as judges, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin has expressed her interest in becoming an American Idol judge.

According to TMZ, after having been asked about a possible part in Idol, Franklin sent out an e-mail Saturday saying, “Yes, I am interested as a judge.”

The multi-awarded diva will serve as replacement for Tyler and Lopez in the competition’s next season, should her interests be heard and met.

Fox has not issued any comment or statement regarding the issue.
