Tim Burton’s stop-action-animated labor of love “Frankenweenie” explores the classic monster genre through the lens of a young Victor Frankenstein.
In Burton’s inventive homage to his favorite black-and-white horror films, Victor isn’t a mad scientist — he just wants his beloved pet dog Sparky (who is run over during an after-school baseball game) back, even if it means reanimating him.
