Hugh Grant to star in new Castle Rock rom-com by Marc Lawrence

New York, NY, United States (4E) – Actor Hugh Grant is set to star in yet another romantic comedy by Castle Rock Entertainment, written and directed by Marc Lawrence.

The untitled film is about Ray Michaels (Grant), who in 1998 was considerably successful— a witty, sexy Englishman who has just made it big in Hollywood by winning an Academy Award for his screenplay. The story jumps fifteen years later, and Michaels is found creatively washed up, divorced and penniless. Having no better option, he tries his hand at teaching screenwriting at a small East Coast college with the idea of earning easy money and having easy access to favors from young and impressionable co-eds. Unexpectedly, Michaels finds romance with a single mom who has gone back to school.

This is Grant’s fourth collaboration with Lawrence and Castle Rock Entertainment, the first three being “Two Weeks Notice,” “Music and Lyrics” and “Did You Hear About the Morgans?”

The upcoming rom-com is produced by Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer. Filming will begin in April in New York. No release date has been announced yet.

Meanwhile, Grant is starring in the upcoming “Cloud Atlas.”
