Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Profiles in History auction house has announced Wednesday that “the most comprehensive collection of James Bond movie posters” will go under the hammer on December 15 and 16.
The collection is part of their Hollywood Auction in Los Angeles and includes rare posters and stills from the iconic James Bond movies.
Joe Maddalena, who runs Profiles inHistory, said in a statement, “This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any fan of James Bond to acquire rare Bond movie posters that may never reach the market again.”
“What makes this auction so special is that this collector acquired these posters over a tremendous span of his life. A collector will essentially have the opportunity to bypass many years of searching and find all these posters together in our once-in-a-lifetime auction,” he continued.
Some of the highlights of the collection are a “Dr. No” special advance silkscreen U.K. double-crown poster from 1962, a “Goldfinger” U.K. advance double-crown poster style from 1964, and a “Thunderball” U.K. quad poster from 1965. The Bond poster collection is estimated to rake in over $200,000.
Profiles in History was founded in 1985 by Joseph Maddalena. It is considered as the world’s largest auctioneer and dealer of original Hollywood Memorabilia ranging from historical autographs, letter, documents, photographs and signed manuscripts.
